Up next, the CIAA Student-Athlete Spotlight, presented by Academy Sports + Outdoors, features Aniya Ladson of Shaw University. Ladson is a senior women’s cross country and track & field student-athlete from Baltimore, MD. She majors in sociology with a concentration in criminal justice and maintains a 3.0 grade point average.
Athletic Accomplishments:
Cross Country – Recorded a personal best in the women’s 5k of 24:44.0 at the VSU Opener
Cross Country – Apart of the Lady Bears team that finished 4th at the 2019 CIAA Championships
Something unique most people wouldn’t know about you:
“I enjoy looking up laws as well as finding new ways to help those in need as far as criminal justice.”
Your goals or plans after finishing school:
“I plan to get a master’s degree, attend law school, and work for the federal government.”
Your greatest inspiration:
“My greatest inspiration is my mother. She’s my role model.”
What do you love the most about being a student-athlete your school?
“What I enjoy most about being a student-athlete at Shaw is the camaraderie with my teammates and coach.”
